Broccoli

Broccoli is a vegetable belonging to the family Brassicaceae. Other Vegetables in the group are - Cauliflower - Cabbage – Brussels sprouts. Broccoli is a source of vitamins, minerals, protein and fiber. Annual crop.

Variety at Agro Grace : Packman
Packman – Heat tolerant variety producing excellent heads through.. Heads are dark green in colour and weighing over ½ - 1 lb. Harvesting 45 to 50 days after transplanting.

Site Selection: No family of the Broccoli should have been planted for a good while on the site. PH of 6.5 and higher. Well drained sandy loam is ideal.

Nursery: Plant seeds in a properly arranged area providing adequate protection from rain, sun and diseased conditions. Use seed trays to plant. Use Actara in nursery and one week after transplanting.

Transplanting: 30 - 40 days after sowing. Plant seedlings – 3ft. x 1.5ft. Treat seedlings with Actara 14 days before transplanting.

Crop care– Test soil to determine nutrient level before applying fertilizer to crop.
