A number of Jamaicans are opting to spend more of their leisure time at home and with advance technology have found pastime on the indoors. A growing number of those are joining the ranks of the traditional garden hobbyists in forging a new relationship with their outdoor space. They have turned to sprucing up their landscape with the addition of ornamental plants and ornate fixtures.
The overwhelming support at our orchid sale on Saturday, Ocober 27th , at our headquaters Kingston branch and our rural outlets in Montego Bay, Mandeville, Southfield and Browns Town, served to authenticate the reality of this new found leisure pursuit. Then, we presented the widest ever range of orchids, many new varieties, including Paphiopedilum, Epidendrum, in addition to the popular Sun Vanda, Shade Vanda, Mokora, Cattleya, Dendrobium, Oncidium, and Phalaenopsis. Also available were Epidenium (Desert Rose) and Euphorbia (Crown of Thorns).
Ornamental plant collection, in particular, gardening, in general, is a growing pastime for the number of professionals who are trying their hands in horticulture and are being rewarded with lush green outdoors and bountious blooms. And, the orchid is their most loveliest, most exquisite, and the showpiece of their gardens.
Agro Grace has, and continue to, asssist the hobbyists, old and new, by offering a wide range of bare root orchid plants from world leading growers. We also offer technical support to our orchid growers in the form of training in the growing and care of the many imported varieties.
The company hosted two well-subscribed All About Orchids seminars in Kingston and Montego Bay in September utilizing experts from Thailand, Montego Bay Orchid Club and Jamaica Orchid Society, who instructed participants on the primary aspects of growing beautiful orchids, including nutrition, water management, shade\light requirements, pruning, potting, repotting, and pest and disease management.
Agro Grace used the opportunity to launch , Paradise of Orchids, targeting Gardener's Club members and other orchid customers. Paradise of Orchids is a competition to be hosted at Agro Grace's locations beginning early next year in Kingston and Montego Bay.
